Acute Epiploic Appendagitis

Abstract
Pathologic lesions affecting epiploic appendage are encountered infrequently and are given preoperative consideration. However, epiploic appendagitis should no longer be considered a surgical and pathologic rarity. With the more improved methods of diagnosis and better training of surgeons in the detection. of pathologic entities, it has been demonstrated that improvement of epiploic appendages with pathology occurs more frequently than are commonly suspected.
The two cases of acute epiploic appandagitis were reported with summary of literature. The preoperative diagnosis of the cases were acute appendicitis:
Emergency operation was performed in which revealed normal vermiformappendix in gross-appearance, but inflammed and hemorrhagic c epiploic appendages with diverticulum was excised without difficulty and primary closure of cecal wall was performed with good recovery.
